"Losail only the first series of a long season. Now we have to change our mindset. We went to America and we visited a completely different track," Lorenzo said as quoted by Autosport.
"I want to win in Austin and that's the mentality I though I knew in America will be much more complicated," he added.
"Austin has a very long straights and few corners with a tooth, where you need good acceleration and traction., Where we have to work very hard from the first session to cut the distance to the competitors," said the Spaniard.
"I maintain my confidence that we can also achieve good results there," he said.
